Several freak waves were registered in the North Alwyn fixed steel jacket platform in the northern North Sea (1°44’ E 60°45’ N, depth 126 m) during the storm from the 16th to the 22nd of November, 1997 [1]. Ten of them were used for the present analysis and simulations. Each time series has 20 minutes duration with the sampling equal to 5 Hz. The freak events can be always well distinguished in the records and may be relatively divided into two cases: of single intensive waves (like in Fig. 1a) and freak groups (like in Fig. 1b).
