This work deals with fatigue strength assessment of a tanker ship hull converted to a FPSO structure based on a spectral approach. The finite element method is used for detailed analysis of three welded joints located at side shell on the bottom, splash zone and deck levels performed on two steps including global and local analysis. Several models for different sea state conditions simulate the entire operational life of the ship initially built as a tanker and 20 years later converted to a FPSO. Complete stochastic spectral fatigue analysis is performed for the critical hot spots accounting for the combination of all loading conditions.
