Guedes Soares, C. and Caires, S. (1995), “Changes in Spectral Sape Due to the Effect of Finite Water Depth”, Proceedings of the 14th International Conference on Offshore Mechanics and Arctic Engineering (OMAE’95), Guedes Soares, C. (Ed.), ASME, New York, Vol. II, pp. 547-556

A method is proposed to determined the evolution of the shape of the wave spectra as the waves propagate into waters of finite depth. The method is based on the similarity hypothesis of Kitaigorodskii and accounts for saturation of the spectra. This approach has been extended to account for shoaling and refraction. The method is applied to several cases in the coast of Figueira da Foz in Portugal.
