Estimation of persistence for marine storms conditions using observations of wave height, wind speed and even the combination of both parameters can be established directly from the available measurements. This investigation presents the results based on the persistence of marine conditions considering different time steps as well as degrees of environmental severity. This approach to define the storm persistence drive us to concepts of weather window employed to support marine activities. Then, the evaluation considers storm condi-tions only states that exceed the severity thresholds and persist for more than each time step previously defined. Consequently, the results of the studies help to solve the basic necessities required for the correct installation and maintenance of renewable energy in the region, which is considered crucial to guarantee the island's energy future. Considering the advantageous availability of the both resources, the present study quantify the weather window durations of individual and joint storm states. So, the time (in hours) for storm and calms conditions plays a significant role in overall process for offshore operations.
