Qiu, W.J., Liu, K., Wan, X. and Chen, B.Q. (2025), Dynamic planning of cabin assembly sequence based on genetic-greedy algorithm, Innovations in the Analysis and Design of Marine Structures, Garbatov, Y. & Guedes Soares C. (Eds.), Taylor & Francis, London, UK, 551-557.
In the modular cabin assembly of large cruise ships, it is crucial to establish a reasonable and efficient assembly sequence for the cabin components. This paper proposes a dynamic assembly sequence planning method for the modular cabins of large cruise ships, using a genetic-greedy algorithm to solve multi-constraint optimisation problems and determine the optimal sequence. Six key constraints are considered: the connection relationship between two adjacent components, motion interference relationship, assembly sequence constraints, the number of changes in assembly direction, the number of tool replacements, and the selection of reference parts. Compared to traditional genetic algorithms, the proposed method improves computational efficiency and performs well in handling complex problems, while also supporting dynamic adjustments during the assembly process to promptly respond to unexpected events. The feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed method have been validated through case studies and comparative analysis.
