This study analyses the impact and compression after impact strength of five different fibre-reinforced polymers. The fabrics are two types of unidirectional: a chopped strand mat, a bi-axial stitched mat, and a woven roving mat. Tests are conducted on dry and specimens, which have been exposed to accelerated ageing tests to assess the long-term degradation of mechanical properties. The impact tests revealed relatively small differences in the maximum load capacity for unidirectional and woven roving fabrics, in opposition to significant ones in the chopped strand mat and bi-axial stitched ones. Furthermore, compression after impact revealed a higher residual compressive strength of the unidirectional fabrics.
