The performance of a dual submerged horizontal flexible membrane breakwater is analysed analytically. The mathematical model for oblique wave interaction with the membrane breakwater is established based on the linearized potential flow theory and the assumption of small amplitude structural response. The analytical solution is obtained using the matched eigenfunction expansion method, and its convergence is checked by analysing the values of reflection and transmission coefficients, as well as the non-dimensional wave forces acting on the two horizontal membranes. Furthermore, the present results are validated against published experimental data, showing good agreement. Several numerical results, including reflection and transmission coefficients, dimensionless wave forces, and membrane deflections obtained from different design parameters, are analysed to study the wave-blocking efficiency of the breakwater. It is observed that the wave reflection and transmission coefficients exhibit non-standard periodically sinusoidal displacements from the zero location.
