(2024), Numerical analysis of the effect of current and wind on the dynamics of large floating flexible platform, Advances in Maritime Technology and Engineering, Guedes Soares, C. & Santos T.A. (Eds.), Taylor and Francis Group, London, UK¸ pp. 341-348.
Drawing upon linear potential flow theory, a numerical model of wave interaction with a moored articulated large floating flexible structure is presented. The floating flexible structure is combined by six plates with hinges and connected with mooring lines at its edges. The mathematical equations associated with the numerical model formulations and multi-body hydrodynamics in frequency and time domain are provided. The numerical result of vertical displacement is compared with existing published experimental datasets and other numerical model results as well as comparisons of without current and two different wave models are also presented. The effects of current and wind on the dynamics of the articulated floating flexible structure are studied by analysing several numerical results of structural displacements for different current and wind speeds with constant values of stiffness of mooring and hinges. Further, the transmission wave amplitudes around the structure are analysed via contour plots, showing that, as the current speed increases the structural displacement
increases with a constant value of wind speed, whilst, no effect of wind on the displacement is observed.
