Bahmyari, E. and Guedes Soares, C. (2023), Uncertainty quantification in free vibration analysis of cracked moderately thick plates using the non-intrusive chaotic radial basis function, Journal of Vibration Engineering & Technologies, Vol. 11, pp. 599-618
A Non-Intrusive Chaotic Radial Basis Function computational scheme is developed, and it is combined with an enriched element free Galerkin approach for investigating the random free vibration of moderately thick plates considering uncertainties in the crack length, crack position, Young’s modulus and the material density of the plate. It is shown that the developed stochastic computational scheme produces accurate results with significantly less computing time compared with the Monte Carlo simulation. Also, it is demonstrated through numerical results that such uncertain parameters can have important effects on the vibration behaviour of cracked plates.
