Mohapatra, S.C. and Guedes Soares, C. (2023), Hydroelastic Response of a Moored Floating Flexible Circular Structure Applying BIEM, Journal of Marine Science and Engineering, Vol. 11, 2322

A hydroelastic model associated with interaction between surface wave and floating circular structure connected with mooring lines in finite water depth is developed using BIEM. The BIEM solutionis achieved using free surface Green’s function and Green’s theorem. Further, the algebraic equations for the circular structural displacement are derivedfrom theintegro-differentialequation. The correctness of the BIEMcodeis verified with the shear force results existing in the literature. The hydroelastic response of the circular structureis analyzed under the effects of different design parameters; spring stiffness, flexural rigidity, angle of incidence, water depth, and compressive force on the shear force, bending moment, and deflections. The comparison results show a good level of agreement between the present and results from the other calculations. The current study may be supportive for the visualization of effect of mooring stiffnessto generalized for articulated circulate structured models for oceanspace utilizationms.
