The performance of the WAM wind wave model in two different periods - February 2007 in the North Atlantic and from January 1983 to December 2011 (29 years) in the Mediterranean Sea - was assessed by spatial and temporal collocation of ENVISAT, TOPEX-Poseidon and JASON1 Hs from the GLOBWAVE data set. Statistical coefficients were computed using this altimetry data and the wave model outputs to show the goodness of the performed simulations in the two basins (Mediterranean Sea and the North Atlantic). In addition, averaged typical wave parameters were compared along satellite tracks.
