This study presents an uncertainty analysis of parametric estimation of the directional wave spectrum from ship responses. Online estimation of wave spectrum has been thoroughly studied in the last years, due to their importance in sea-operations safety, and several methodologies have been proposed. How-ever, none of these methods is considered to be fully accurate. Thus, it is important to assign an uncertainty measure to the estimated wave spectrum. In this paper, uncertainty analysis based on ITTC Recommended procedures and Guidelines is addressed. The linear error propagation of ship transfer functions and measured ship responses were considered. To assess the uncertainty of the estimated wave spectrum a set of numerical simulations using the parametric method were carried out for different wave scenarios.
