The reliability analysis of offshore wind turbines is increasingly significant due to the system complexity and negative impacts in harsh operating conditions. Maintenance actions are required to ensure the system safety and performance. In this study, an opportunistic condition-based maintenance strategy is proposed, considering imperfect maintenance and the weather effect on maintenance planning. When one component malfunctions or reaches its critical degradation state, opportunistic preventive maintenance can be performed for the others. Based on rolling horizon approach, the maintenance planning is updated to take short-term information into account, which could be changed with time. By selecting the best combination, the maintenance schedule during the mission time is finally determined. Failure information are collected from previous literatures to accomplish the calculations. The results shows that the economic efficiency of the offshore wind farm is significantly improved through the proposed method.
