This paper analysis a set of wave data generated in an offshore tank. The set of the largest waves in those sea states was analyzed with respect to steepness, asymmetry and nonlinearity. It was possible to find between these waves some which were classified as freak or abnormal waves according to accepted criteria. Their statistics connected to steepness and nonlinearity also were determined. Examination of the nonlinearity as well as statistics of the largest waves permitted to understand better the type of the sea states that were used in this work.
