The aim of the present analysis is to investigate the effect of different geometrical parameters and imperfections on the ultimate bending moment capacity of multi-bay tubular reinforced structures, subjected to four-point bending, through conducting a series of nonlinear finite element analysis. Three affecting parameters are considered: initial imperfections, shell thickness and local circumferential imperfections. For the first parameter, two cases are studied; the model only with local imperfections or with combined local and global imperfections. The second parameter, deals with six cases with varying shell thicknesses and for the third parameter, different numbers of imperfection half-waves around the cylindrical shell circumferences are considered. The resulting structural responses are presented by moment-curvature relationships, and post-collapse deformed shapes are analysed and several conclusions are derived.
