Future commercial installation of wave energy plants using point absorber technology will require clusters of tens up to several hundred devices, in order to reach a viable electricity production. Inter-connected devices serve the purpose of power smoothing. Hydrodynamic analysis of circular array of WECs gives good results in terms of the power output and also the power quality. This paper takes this hydrodynamic analysis further by proposing a more detailed circular array WEC concept. Time domain simulations are performed to understand the variability of selected parameters and are compared with those of linear WEC arrays. This study will help in the further evaluation of circular array of wave energy devices.
