This study discusses different methods used for a time dependent reliability assessment of marine structures though any stage during their service life. The parameters involved are defined as time variant ones and are represented as random stochastic processes. Reliability in time variant terms is discussed. The first passage concept is reviewed. The reliability assessment described by various stochastic random processes and variables is also reviewed. The integration procedure is computationally time expensive when the conventional integration techniques are used and to resolve this problem, proposed fast probability integration techniques are reviewed. A discussion about the analytical and numerical solutions for the out-crossing rates of continuous processes is presented to.
