Guedes Soares, C., Fonseca, N. and Centeno, R. (1995), “Seakeeping Performance of Fishing Vessels in the Portuguese Economic Zone”, Proceedings of the International Conference on Seakeeping and Weather (RINA), Royal Institute of Naval Architects, London, 28 February-1 March, paper 12, pp. 1-10

The seakeeping performance of fishing vessels is related to some critical values of motion related variables. The motions and accelerations of fishing vessels of different size and type are assessed using linear strip theory methods. Their response to irregular sea states is determined by the spectral approach and short-term and long-term predictions are made of their seakeeping performance in the coastal seas of Faro, Sines and Figueira da Foz in the Portuguese coast as well as for the seas offshore Portugal.
