(Eds.), Taylor & Francis Group, London, UK, pp. 1157-1164

The recent oil and gas discoveries in Brazil in offshore basins very far from land create a new challenge to continue conducting the crew exchange by helicopter. This paper addresses this problem for an hypothetical oil field. A Mixed Integer Linear Programming formulation is developed in order to provide an optimal flight schedule table per day and the helicopter fleet composition to accommodate the maritime units demand. To present the model behaviour according to the passenger demand, the input data for the optimization model is considered both as homogeneous and heterogeneous demand.
