Kharghani, N. and Guedes Soares, C. (2015), “Influence of different parameters on the deflection of composite laminates containing through-the-width delamination using Layerwise HSDT”, Composite Structures, Vol. 132, pp. 341-349

Delamination in composite plates affects the overall stiffness of the structure against different loading conditions, specially, compressive in-plane ones. In this paper, the effects of different parameters of the composite laminate and delaminated area is investigated analytically under buckling load based on a developed Layerwise Higher Shear Deformation Theory (LHSDT) and the results are compared with the three dimensional Finite Element Analysis (FEA) which have been obtained from ANSYS commercial software. The results demonstrate the consequences of different geometrical parameters of the delaminated area, lay-up sequences and thickness of the laminate on the deflection of a composite plate containing through-the-width delamination.
