This paper presents the assessing for the credibility of modeling and simulation of the open source flow solver OpenFOAM in the context of Computational Fluid Dynamics. For the process of verification and validation three standard test cases of laminar flows have been selected and solved. Grid convergence studies have been performed, the obtained results have been compared against experimental and numerical results found in the literature.
