Group of Marine Environment > 1.2 Probabilistic Models of Wave Parameters > Publications

Guedes Soares, C., Lopes, L.C. and Costa, M.D.S. (1988), “Wave Climate Modelling for Engineering Purposes” (In Portuguese), Computer Modelling in Ocean Engineering, Schrefler, B. A. and Zienkiewicz, O. C. (Eds), A. A. Balkema Pub., Rotterdam, pp.169-175

Different types of wave climate are needed for studies of coastal or ocean engineering are discussed. Examples of these models are provided with wave measurements made at Figueira da Foz in Portugal. Theoretical models are used to adjust the measured data allowing conclusions as to which provides the best fits.
