The network will co-ordinate and exploit common theoretical results within different topics, with the following priority list: the development of general approach for the probabilistic modelling of material properties; the extension of the classical methodology for action modelling with particular reference to transient loads; the enhancement of probabilistic modelling into general purpose codes of structural and mechanical analysis (stochastic finite element methods); the improvement of theory and computational methods of reliability quantification; the development and comparison of different stochastic dynamics procedures; the experimental validation of non-linear stochastic dynamics results also by system identification and control procedures.
