Performance of combined wave and wind energy multi-use platform (MUP)

Due to the effects on the climate change, it is necessary to increase the contribution of renewable energy for needs of the countries. The difficulty on having a commercial exploitation of offshore renewable energy is due to the relatively high cost of the installation and maintenance of the offshore energy devices. Thus, this project studies the combination of more than one device in one platform so as to decrease the infrastructural cost. A time domain hydrodynamic model will be developed for the hydrodynamic analysis of the combined wind and wave energy platform connected with mooring system for combined wave and wind energy extraction.
