Variable geometry Wave Energy Conversion system for floating platforms (WEC4MUP)

The project objective is to develop wind turbine offshore floating platforms, by adapting semi-submersible structures with a concentric array of wave energy converters, which are actively controlled to provide faster dynamic response to platform pitching and roll motions. The harvested wave energy may be used to power this stabilization system and/or deliver electrical energy to the grid. Thus, allowing the upscaling of bigger turbines and lower levelized cost of energy.
