This paper presents results of an experimental study on the interaction of waves and currents. The JONSWAP model was adopted in different simulations of sea states without current and with following and opposing current. It was observed that the changes in the wave spectra are in reasonable accordance with the theoretical predictions although a consistent underprediction of the effect of the current was observed.
