The study compares the Maximum Likelihood Model and the Conditional Modelling Approach for joint environmental description based on their application to data from the South Western Approaches DBI site (UK). Uncertainties related to both models are discussed. Advantages and disadvantages of using the models in the reliability analysis are pointed out.
