This work presents the aims of the WAVEMOD Project, as weel as its main achievements during the first year. The project includes two field experiments, on the coast of Portugal and Greece. These experiments are aimed at calibrating other type of wave data, which is used to make long term predictions of the wave conditions at coastal sites.
