The degradation of performance or difficulty in recovering from critical situations are signs of low immunity to risk factors and are related to company bankruptcy. The hypothesis of this investigation is that immunity to the causes of the degradation of businesses is regardless of company size and is as large as the extent and richness of the connections on which the constitution of the internal structure of the company was built and on the relationships with external entities. The hypothesis was analyzed by resorting to a degree of empirical evidence and the construction of a formal model. The model describes the Extended Business Network (REA) as a diagram whose vertices are the internal agents of the organization and the entities with whom they interact, and whose edges are the relationship with external agents. The agents are the management subsystems of organizations, defined as “Domains of Responsibility”. The robustness of the business is defined by the efforts necessary to brake the REA connections, which in turn is assessed by the characteristics of the connections obtained.
