The objective of this work is to analyse the global strength assessment of the hull structure of an offshore multipurpose support vessel of medium size, designed to support the operation of renewable energy farms in the Eastern Mediterranean Sea. Three load cases, namely 10%, 100 % consumables and design load are evaluated. The beam theory and the finite element method are employed in the analysis. The shear force and bending moment distributions derived from the beam theory and finite element solution are compared and discussed. The ship hull bending capacity has shown that she may withstand a significant wave height of 6.5m and 7m in hogging and sagging design load conditions respectively representing a significant safety margin for a ship operating in the Eastern Mediterranean Sea. The acting stresses for each analysed load cases are within the permissible stress ranges.
