The work reviews recently developed corrosion wastage models for marine structural applications. A non-linear corrosion model is applied to measure service data in order to evaluate the model parameters that adjust to the corrosion depth. Different environmental and operational factors affecting the corrosion degradation of steel plates at different ship areas are analyzed. A mathematical models, including the effects of these factors is used to analyze corrosion deterioration of ship plates under different marine conditions. The model used considers that the changes in the environmental or operational conditions will modify the corrosion degradation, depending on its specific effect. Application examples are included to demonstrate the model in assessment of the corrosion degradation expected at the different ship routes or over certain navigational area of certain characteristics.
