The aim of this paper is to give an overview of some of the author’s most relevant research contributions, mainly since 1995, in terms of the analytical results and the frameworks introduced. A small selection of the research published is presented with a brief discussion that also includes future research topics. The novel analytical results has been on unifying probabilistic structures through Markov renewal processes, positive random translations of marked point processes, 3rd Erlang formula, decomposition formulas and conservation laws; on congestion reduction and control through retrials and managerial decision rules including the so called oscillating-queues; on parametric and non-parametric inference through ill-posed problems and estimation in random translations of marked point processes, stochastic orders, and robust graphical tests for bivariate normality; and on the so called industrial statistics through new and emerging trends in reliability, control charts for reliability and life-testing, and process maintenance from the point of view of reliability and process control. To bridge and integrate different relevant concepts and processes the author introduced and developed the two novel trans-disciplinary stochastic frameworks called Total Quality Queue Management (TQQM) and Stochastics for the Quality Movement (SQM), respectively.
