In the present investigation, two different types of fishing vessels, which are larger than previously examined vessels, are considered and the motion response for various speed and heading angles are calculated with three different codes. For zero speed, the computed motion histories are computed with WAMIT, Strip Theory and a Linear Time Domain 3D Panel Method; while for the forward speed, results are compared between strip theory and time domain code. The objective of the present investigation is to analyse the co-relation of the motion results between three different theories applied to fishing vessels, which due to their size and shape are often in the borderline of applicability of important assumptions in the formulation of codes. It is observed that in spite of different level of approximations in the theories, the computed results show a consistent agreement among three different codes.
