The major aspects of wave climatological data that influence the response of marine structures wave been identified. Calculations have been performed for the various effects and for different types of structures to quantify the sensitivity of the response to those parameters. Consideration has been given to the uncertainty in wavedata, to the effect of having wave data from different ocean areas, the effect of climate directionality and of short-crestedness.
