The main objective of this paper is to investigate the effects of boundary constraints on post-welding distortions. Non-linear finite element analyses of welding simulation are performed in order to predict the post-weld mechanical response accounting for different boundary conditions including different types and sizes of rigid fixations. The importance of the analysed preventive measures is also quantified.
