8th International Conference on Collision and Grounding of Ships and Offshore Structures
21 – 23 October 2019, Lisbon, Portugal


The Centre for Marine Technology and Ocean Engineering (CENTEC) of Instituto Superior Técnico, Universidade de Lisboa is organizing the 8th International Conference on Collision and Grounding of Ships and Offshore Structures (ICCGS 2019) and it will be held at Instituto Superior Técnico in Lisbon, Portugal from 21st to 23rd October.

Naval architects, marine engineers and scientists from all over the world attended and present recent research results on the topics covered by the ICCGS. This forum will offer the ideal setting for participants to share experiences and be informed of state-of-the-art developments in collision and grounding of ship and offshore structures, as well as take part in many fruitful discussions. All presented papers will be peer-reviewed to ensure the customary high scientific and academic quality.

The aim of ICCGS conferences is to present state-of-the-art methods for analysis and design against collision and grounding of ships, collisions between ships and icebergs, offshore structures, bridges, submerged tunnels and waterfront structures. Previous conferences were held in: San Francisco, USA in 1996; Copenhagen, Denmark in 2001; Tokyo, Japan in 2004; Hamburg, Germany in 2007; Helsinki, Finland in 2010; Trondheim, Norway in 2013; and, Ulsan, South Korea in 2016.
