International Conference on Maritime Technology and Engineering
The National Conferences in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering began in 1987 with the joint organization of Instituto Superior Técnico and the Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering Section of the Portuguese Association of Engineers (Colégio de Engenharia Naval da Ordem dos Engenheiros). The 11 editions of the event were initially organized annually, becoming later a bi-annual event including one edition in 1997 organized together with the Association of Naval Architects of Spain.
MARTECH 2026 will be organised in several parallel sessions with in-person attendance.
The Conference will continue to have a broad scope, covering all aspects of maritime activity including:
• Ship Design (structures, hydrodynamics, machinery)
• Ship Operation
• Ship Building and Repair
• Maritime Transportation and Ports
• Fishing and Aquaculture
• Offshore Energy Resources
• Military and Surveillance Vessels
• Recreational Craft and Maritime Tourism
The official language of the event is English. At the same time, and at the same location, the National Conference in Portuguese will be held in other parallel sessions.
