The single peaked JONSWAP and double peaked Torsethaugen spectra are unable to simulate multipeaked spectral sea states effectively. A theoretical spectrum was developed from a modified Weibull distribution and presented. The multi-peaked wave power spectra recorded by a deep-water buoy deployed in the Bay of Bengal, Indian Ocean by the National Institute of Ocean Technology were simulated using this theoretical spectrum. This spectrum succeeded to give better results for smoothed multi-peaked energy sea states with RRMS errors lesser than 18%.
